Private Guided Hikes on Catalina Island

Airport Loop 

3-hour total excursion time

1.5 driving, 1 hiking, .5 lunch                                                 

$450 total for up to 6 hikers w/guide

Beginner hiker

Details:

  • Includes pick up in Avalon with transport to trailhead at the Airport in the Sky (located in the middle of the Island at mile marker 13 on the Trans Catalina Trail)

  • During the 30-minute car ride hikers will have the opportunity to see wildlife such as bison and Island foxes and learn about life on Catalina

  • Once at the airport hikers will be given a Catalina Backcountry patch and start out on our 2.8-mile hike around the airport

  • Scenic views of the ocean  surrounding Catalina and the possibility of bison spotting.

  • After our hike guests will be able to have a quick bite to eat at Airport Cafe

 

Divide Hike 

3-hour total excursion time

15 minutes driving, remainder hiking                                       

$300 total for up to 6 hikers w/guide

Beginner-Intermediate hike, mostly downhill

Details:

  • Includes transport up Stagecoach Road to trailhead at the summit

  • Hikers hike with guide along the divide ridge line down into Avalon

  •  Hike consists of hiking about 5 miles of the Trans Catalina Trail that is mostly downhill besides first small incline section

  • Each hiker is provided a bottle water and Catalina Backcountry patch​

 

Hike into Little Harbor on the TCT 

5- hour total excursion time                                                      

$625 for up to five people w/ guide                                         

$525 no guide

1.5 driving, 2.5 hiking, 1 at the beach  

Beginner-Intermediate hike, mostly downhill

Details:

  • Includes pick up in Avalon with transport to Trailhead at the Airport in the Sky (located in the middle of the Island at mile marker 13 on the Trans Catalina Trail)

  • During the 30-minute car ride hikers will have the opportunity to see wildlife such as bison and Island foxes and learn about life on Catalina

  • Once at the Airport in the Sky hikers will be given their trail maps and Catalina Backcountry crew will transport any items along with beach chairs and a cooler to Little Harbor. We supply ice for cooler and hikers can bring any snacks or beverages they would like.

  •  Hike is fully guided. 6 miles mostly downhill and takes about 2.5 hours depending on hiker speed

  • Upon arrival hikers can relax have lunch and explore the area with a Catalina Backcountry crew member for 1 hour

  • Transport back to Avalon is about 1 hour and we make stops to see a waterfall at Cottonwood Beach and the World War 2 bunkers at Ben Weston Beach as these are very unique places that no other tours get to stop at.

Hike to Two Harbors on the most BREATHTAKING 5.5-MILES of the TCT

8-hour total excursion time

3 driving, 4 hiking, 1 at Two Harbors

Advanced hike with steep hills                                   

$975 for up to four people w/guide

Details:

  • Includes transport to Little Harbor where we will start at mile marker 19 of the Trans Catalina Trail

  • This section is regarded among the most breathtaking and stunning of the entire Trans Catalina Trail!

  • Hike is roughly 5.5 miles and in summer heat can take up to 4 hours

  • Once hikers and guide arrive in Two Harbors guests will be able to purchase lunch or cold beverages before the hour and a half ride back to Avalon.

  • Hikers can also opt to jump in the water at Two Harbors after the hike

  • This hike and excursion cover much of the Island
